BIOGRAPHY:  Pastor Rayfield Whittington Jr.
		A man of prayer, study and a powerful teacher of God’s word. A man with a heart for family is currently writing his first book to men. Bishop Rayfield Whittington is the pastor of Word Up Christian Center Church, Denver Colorado.  Born in 1951 in Hamer, South Carolina. His father Rayfield Sr.  served the US Air Force and relocated the family to Denver in 1958. Pastor Whittington was raised a Methodist and rededicated his life to Christ in 1974 while attending college at Fort Hayes State College, Hayes Kansas.  He returned to Denver and served at Jerusalem COGIC under Bishop H F Kelly where he met and married Rita Williams in 1978. There he was challenged to seek God, live right, fast and pray and serve in the house of God.   He later became employed by the Denver Fire Department where he worked as a Denver Firefighter for 19 years.  He moved into fulltime ministry in 1998 after founding Word Up Christian Center Church in 1993.  Rayfield & Rita Whittington are the parents of four children ranging in age from late twenties to just a few months old .   Word Up Christian Center has grown in to an exciting place to worship and praise God while the Word will challenge you to grow, change, know your purpose, worship and be healed.  Today his main purpose is to teach people to know their purpose and destiny while proclaiming the healing power of  God to the spirit soul and the body.
